TO BECOME
A JUMP PILOT
Jumpers Away provides three courses, based on your aircraft total time and time in a Cessna 182. All courses have the same ground review, which includes:
Applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, including Parts 61, 65, 91, 105 and 119, and related FAA Advisory Circulars
The U.S. Parachute Association’s Basic Safety Requirements for skydiving
Cessna 182 operation and performance
Typical DZ operations and procedures

I book only individual courses--one student at a time. Courses begin on Monday morning, usually completing before the end of the week.
COURSES
COURSE 101
$6,395
For pilots with less than 400 total hours.
You will log 20 hours of Cessna 182 PIC time over 4 days, flying more than 25 jump flights as high as 12,000 feet and encountering normal, abnormal and emergency flight scenarios.
COURSE 202
$5,395
For pilots with more than 400 total hours and at least 5 hours in a Cessna 182.
You will log 15 hours of Cessna 182 PIC time over 3 days, flying more than 20 full jump flights as high as 12,000 feet and encountering normal, abnormal and emergency flight scenarios.
COURSE 303
$4,395
For pilots with more than 600 total hours and at least 10 hours in a Cessna 182.
You will log 10 hours of Cessna 182 PIC time over 2 days, flying more than 15 full jump flights as high as 12,000 feet and encountering normal, abnormal and emergency flight scenarios.
COURSE SCHEDULES
Generally, jump pilot courses will start on Mondays at 8 a.m. to allow for completion before the end of the week, including any necessary make-up days due to weather.

Pre-Arrival - Receive and review course material

Day 2—normal jump op procedures | 5 hours flight-time
Day 3—normal and emergency procedures | 5 hours flight-time
Day 4—abnormal procedures | exhibition jumps | remote DZs | 5 hours flight-time
Day 5—make-up | weather day, if needed
COURSE 202

PILOT REQUIREMENTS
Prior to beginning a jump pilot course, pilots will be required to present the following:
FAA Commercial or ATP Certificate
Valid FAA Medical Certificate
Logged flight review within preceding 24 months
3 takeoffs and landings within the preceding 90 days
Logged checkout in a Cessna 182
